workin' for the weekend
EVERYBODY NEEDS A SECOND CHANCE
The light from his cellphone lit up his upper body. He scrolled through various social media feeds. He was checking to see about freshman sightings. But, in all honesty, he wasn't exactly interested in chasing or catching them. He had a reputation to maintain and his participation needed to blatant for a little while before he decided to bail on this school activity. He'd find something more productive to do and he was only out here to find someone to do that productive task with. The whole school, aside from the administrators and teachers, was outside trying to gain money for their respective clubs by capturing freshman. Putting his phone in his backpocket, he lazily laid himself on the school's gate. He was just standing here, trying to catch a cheater. Someone would inevitably be so scared that they rushed for the gates to remove themselves from the campus. Or, that's what Alistaire had done during his freshman year.
He sighed, remembering his freshman run. He'd gotten to the gates, tried to climb the fencing but was unable to and was eventually caught by the athletics club. Probably why he never did join a sport after all that. He blinked his eyes up at the dark sky. It was definitely going to rain by the look of things. Unavoidable but since he took this position every year, he always planned for such things. He looked toward a row of bushes and gave a yawn. He had an emergency bag filled with snacks and necessary environmental tools. He'd be out here until the chapel bells rang so, might as well be prepared for all eventualities.
Alistaire blinked and pushed himself away from the gate. He reached back into his pocket and sent a group text message to the other journalism club members out in the field.
"Anyone know what time the freshman were woken up?" He spoke his message out loud as he typed it with his thumbs. He blinked and then waited for some kind of response.

PHARAOH LEAP.
